When did pets become a part of the family?
Is anyone else guilty of buying their pets gifts for Christmas? I know we’re in a recession, but the I think the boys deserve a little something.

Anyone else buying or making something for their pets this holiday? I know some people like to watch their dogs tear apart wrapping paper!
haha we have always (for as long as I can remember) included the family pets in christmas. When we had dogs, we would buy them brand new squeaker toys and loosely wrap it up and give it to them as we opened our stocking in the mornings. For our cats, they’d always get mini stockings full of Catnip Toys.. and then of course, they’d love to play in all the leftover wrapping paper.
during christmas dinner, my mum would take that little baggy of turkey insides and cook it for our dogs, and the cats would get real turkey and turkey juices for dinner.
My fiancé and I don’t have kids yet, and I think including our pets is integral to fully enjoying the holiday spirit. Your pets know something is up… with that funny green tree decorated in the living room… people visiting… and super yummy smells coming from the kitchen! Why not give them a reward for putting up with the disturbance in their daily routines.
One year, my fiance made a 6 foot tall Scratching Post and the cats were THRILLED! (plus they left the tree alone! lol.) and making it was so much cheaper than buying one.. we went to End of the Roll and they just gave us some carpet scraps…so all we had to do was buy some wood and voila!
